Description
Here are some photos of my Free French M4A2 Sherman.
The model represents a tank from the French 2nd Division Blindee, 12th Regiment de Chasseurs d’Afrique, 2nd Escadron de Combat.
This project was particularly rewarding as I did the research that ultimately led to Archer Fine Transfers producing the markings for this particular vehicle and a number of others.
The model was built from the 1/35 scale DML Sherman III kit and features a number of enhancements including:
-
Tasca idler wheels, final drive covers, drive sprockets, and turret .50 cal
-
Formations turret, fenders, and adjustable idler wheel mounts
-
Transmission housing from the DML M4A2 Tarawa kit
-
Tiger Model Designs M4A2 exhaust
-
AFV Club T51 tracks
-
Scratchbuilt rear hull stowage box
-
Warriors and Nemrod figures
The model was photographed with a Nikon D50 with Nikkor 28mm and 60mm macro lenses.
