One potential problem with Dragon’s British Armoured Car Saladin Mk 2 kit no 3554 is the soft plastic tyres. As well as having mould seams which need to be removed, their material can react with the plastic wheel hubs over time.

Scorpion Miniature Models have released a set of resin wheels which will overcome this. These replace the kit parts in section 8 of the instructions, items B4, B14, B15 and the tyres D. Some minor clean-up may be needed. The new parts come with separate 3D printed hub covers which need to be removed from their supports and fitted.

Detail is very good with the makers name on the sidewalls inside and out. Note that there is no moulded-on sag or bulge on the tyres. The real vehicle had run-flat tyres with high pressures so did not have them, if you want a small flat area to fit the ground then a few strokes with a file will give you that.

Packaging is a small zip-top bag with a basic instruction sheet showing what to do.

They are described as also being for the Saracen armoured personnel carrier series, as far as I know there is no plastic kit of them available.

Some will think these are wheelie good but others will just like them.
