This release appears to be a new venture for Trumpeter, being a 1/16 scale figure of a Russian tanker in WWII. As first in hopefully what becomes a series, l look forward to them hitting the shelves as this is a really nice figure in injected plastic.
The pose on the box art shows him leaning on a T-34, but since l dont have one lying around, l improvised a fence for him to lean on instead.
Looking inside the box, you wont be disappointed. There are a couple of frets with all the parts and a nice display base included. In total there are fifteen parts for the figure and then some spares left over like a pistol holster and a PPsh-41 machine gun. For the gun there is also a small etch set, though there are no instructions for it,a little dissapointing.
Constructing this figure was very easy and involved minimal cleaning. I pretty much put everything together, except for the arms so as to make painting the hands and pistol holster easier.
Thumbnail panels:
Painting was all done with Tamiya and Citadel Acrylic paints and was alot of fun, especially when doing the black overalls using different tones. For a final finish l then lightly dusted everything with Mig pigments to tone areas down a little.
The base is the one included in the kit with some very basic ground work and a fence, and for a final finishing touch l added the gun, also leaning on the fence.
In summary, this is a great figure, and l highly recommend him to all.
