Archer Fine 1/35 scale Decals -M113 Interior & ExteriorGerman Fire Extinguisher StencilsReviewed by Cookie Sewell Summary
FirstLook One of the very best products to come from Archer Fine Transfers has been their line of internal and external stenciling and instrument faces for armored and softskin vehicles. These are the crowning touch for many vehicles, and give a good model that ultimate touch of realism. These are the latest two sets. Set 77045 is for the interior and exterior of any variant of the M113 family (albeit all are in English) and cover both camouflaged and standard OD/sea green vehicles. Inside the packet is a very handy and neatly done color guide for where the various placards and stencils go as well as general ideas as to which vehicle in the series (M113, M113A1, M113A2 and M113A3 and directly related vehicles) uses them. I only used a small magnifying class on these but all of the text – to include small instruction placards – appears readable and the larger print is razor sharp.
The same goes for Set 77046, albeit the directions are more general and just cover the various colors German WWII fire extinguishers were painted at the factory. Brand or identifies include Tetra and Tetra2 types and the rest of the sheet actually provides internal placards for vehicles to include manufacturer’s data, shift patterns, product quality checks, and others as well as a long list of internal stowage placards. Once again you will need a stronger glass than I had to read them! In summary, these are very neatly done and guaranteed to stump the most insidious “rivet counter” out there! Thanks to Woody Vondracek for the review samples.
