Here’s one for SS figure painters, whether as single figures or with tanks. It gives potted histories, including major battles, for two Mountain, one Cavalry and two Panzer divisions: 6 SS-Gebirgs-Division Nord, 7 SS-Freiwilligen Gebirgs Division Prinz Eugen, 8 SS-Kavallerie Division Florian Geyer, 9 SS-Panzer Division Hohenstaufen, and 10 SS-Panzer Division Frundsberg.
The photographs are well chosen to show uniform details, and although of course a number are head-and-shoulders portraits they do show the collar and rank insignia clearly. The photos of preserved cuff titles will be very useful, too. All of this is backed up by good colour plates showing the uniforms of all five divisions.
Recommended for those who like SS figures and tanks.
