This is an account of the Landsers’ life on the Eastern Front from anti-partisan operations to the final fighting in Berlin, concentrating on actual combat reports as well as descriptions of tactics and situations.
There’s little coverage of armoured operations as such but some interesting sidelights on infantry/armour cooperation and on the German soldiers’ reactions to Soviet tank attacks. Missing Links readers will find it very useful for diorama ideas, where the photographs and plates will be very helpful too, but it’s well worth reading as background material even if you’re not a diorama builder.
Recommended.
