AMMO by MIG Jimenez has released a batch of new painting and weathering products. Let’s take a look in detail:

Winterizer Real Snow Set

AMMO has released a boxed set of products to recreate the texture of snow in its many different forms on any surface including terrain, vehicles and buildings.

The individual products in the box are:

A.MIG-2080 POWDER SNOW
A.MIG-2081 WET SNOW
A.MIG-2082 SNOW BINDER
A.MIG-2057 GLOSSY LUCKY VARNISH (17 mL)

The Powder Snow is designed to be used with the Snow Binder to hold the Powder Snow in place. The powder is incredibly fine but may be cleaned up easily without leaving any residue.

The Wet Snow may be brushed or dabbed onto almost any surface.

The glossy varnish will be a helpful finishing touch.

The package is rounded out with a small 12 page booklet illustrating techniques for applying the snow to various different surfaces including vehicles, grass and hard surfaces.

Here’s what AMMO has to say about the set:

“Winterizer contains all the products required to recreate the texture of snow on any surface including terrain, vehicles, and buildings.
This product has been designed for easy use, particularly for beginners.

With the products included in this set, you will be able to recreate recently fallen pure white snow to the distinctive slush and refreezing of the thaw. The unique formula ensures near identical real snow in any scale from 1:16 to 1:72, adding a stunning finish to your models, scenes and dioramas.

These products can be diluted with water to make them more fluid. Once dry, you can apply effects with oils and enamels over the snow effect to obtain extremely realistic results. Non-toxic.”

This looks like a really useful and versatile set for diorama and vehicle modellers.

Stug III Ausf. G

AMMO’s latest addition to their vehicle paint range is a set of twelve colours used on the exterior and interior of the Sturmgeschutz III Ausf. G.

The colours in this set cover not only camouflage colours of these mid to late-war Stug IIIs, but also the driver’s compartment, fighting compartment and engine bay.

There are a couple of metallic colours in the box. I haven’t used AMMO acrylic metallics yet. I’ll look forward to taking them for a test drive soon.

The paints are acrylic. The bottles are squeezable plastic. They are capped with a screw-top plastic lid.

The twelve plastic bottles are packed securely in two cardboard trays inside a cardboard box.

Of course, these colours are not exclusively used on the Sturmgeschutz III. They will also apply to many other German vehicles used from the mid-war until the end of the war.

Waffen SS Autumn Camo. German Einchenlaubmuster Set

Here’s a very useful set for anyone who paints German WWII figures. This is Item No. A.MIG-7041 in their Figures Set series, Waffen SS Autumn Camo. German Einchenlaubmuster.

Here’s what AMMO has to say about the set:

“This pack includes the six colours needed to paint the distinctive and complex German Eichenlaubmuster (‘Oak leaf’) camouflage in its Autumn version, worn by units of the Waffen-SS from1941 (Oak A) and 1943 (Oak B) through the end of WWII. Most garments were reversible, with spring camouflage on one side and autumn camouflage on the other.”

The six acrylic paints are:

The rear of the box contains two images of a painted figure – front and back views – with a guide to what colour goes where.

The paints themselves are contained in a familiar shaped squeezable plastic bottle with screw cap. They have a metal rattle ball inside to make sure the paint will be thoroughly mixed after shaking the bottle.

This new uniform painting set from AMMO by MIG Jimenez will be useful to armour and figure modellers.
