This is an interesting account of the way that trenches were laid out and field fortifications, including machine gun and mortar emplacements and deep shelters, were built by both Allies and Germans. The pre-war fortresses are dealt with as well as reinforcements to existing buildings and concrete emplacements.
We learn that there were even prefabricated sectional concrete bunkers! Modellers wanting authentic trenches and emplacements for their WW1 tanks to over-run definitely need this book, and anyone simply interested in the Western Front fighting will find it fascinating as well.
Highly recommended!
